Oak Lamp Base - Salvaged Canal Lock Gate - One of a Kind

What a statement this oak lamp base would make in your home/corporate workplace.  Made from a salvaged canal lock gate, this base was once a section of the hinge post.

The attractive ebonised effect is a result of the iron framework reacting with the tannin in the oak over several decades whilst submerged in water. The contrast between the ebonised section and the natural oak colour really enhances the appeal.

This base is fitted with an inline dimmer switch so that a decorative Edison style bulb can be used without a shade being necessary.

It is fitted with a B22 brass bulb holder complete with safety switch and has a lamp shade ring. This oak lamp also comes with a lengthy vintage style, twisted 3 core cable. It is earthed and has been pat tested. Fitted with a UK 3 pin plug.

The dimensions are 42cm high (60cm including the stem and bulb holder) x 24cm x 16cm.
